EdgeWeave vs ComfyUI

Two node editors, built for different work.

ComfyUI is a popular node-based tool centred on image and video generation models. EdgeWeave uses the same visual idea for general data science, simulation and AI work, and adds code export and a built-in code editor.

Built forGenerative image (and increasingly video and audio) pipelines built around diffusion models.Data science, statistics, simulation, graphs and maps, 3D, and LLM workflows.
What nodes showMostly images and generation previews.Charts, tables, maps and 3D scenes rendered on the node itself, as well as images.
Getting code outWorkflows are saved as JSON for ComfyUI to load.Export a graph to a standalone Python script, because nodes share their code with the export.
Editing codeCustom nodes are Python packages you add to the install.A built-in code editor with Git, graph diff and per-project Python packages.
ReuseShare workflows and install custom node packs.Subsystems turn a graph into one node; a marketplace sells and installs node modules.
ExtendingA large community of custom nodes.Write a node with a Python decorator, or install a module from the marketplace.

Choose ComfyUI when

  • your work is Stable Diffusion, Flux or similar image and video generation
  • you want the large community ecosystem of image-model nodes
  • you rely on workflows shared by other ComfyUI users

Choose EdgeWeave when

  • your work is tabular data, statistics, simulation, 3D or LLM pipelines
  • you want charts and tables on the nodes, not only images
  • you want to export the result as plain Python and keep it in version control
